J.E. Robison Service has been taking care of cars like yours for almost forty years—longer than the local dealers have been in business. In that time we’ve learned a few things...

Did you know that cars like yours need special oils, with brand-specific ratings? It’s not enough to use 5-30 oil; you need a 5-30 with the particular BMW, Land Rover, or other rating. In today’s cars, using the wrong oil can cost you an engine. The same thing applies to coolant, brake fluid, and gearbox oils.

How about those cute squirrels in your yard? They stop being cute when they make nests under the hood and eat your car’s wiring. Did you know that’s covered by comprehensive auto insurance and we are experts at handling those claims? We are—and we’re experts on most other things on your car, too.

Thinking of changing your own oil? You’ll need a connection to the manufacturer’s network to reset the service light in Mercedes and other brands. We’ve got that, just like the dealers. We also have the other special tools and the training to use them.

You can’t change most modules in these cars without programming, and we have the tools and knowledge to do that. We’ve got access to the same diagnostic software as the dealer, plus independent systems that let us do things the dealers can’t.

What about parts? In many cases, genuine parts are best, but there are exceptions. Bilstein shocks may be better for your Porsche, and metal coolant pipes may be a good upgrade when the plastic pipes fail on your BMW. We have that flexibility—dealers generally don’t.

Are you thinking of buying a new car? An hour or two checking it out in our shop might save you thousands by not buying someone else’s problems. Dealers answer to the carmakers, and follow their rules. Our only duty is to you, our client.

Servicing high-end cars is a lot more difficult than it was 30 years ago, and we’ve risen to the challenge, with over a million dollars worth of special tools and equipment and a large, capable staff. We used to think people came to us because we were cute and personable, but now they come because we are capable and meticulous.

If you’re looking for an alternative to the dealers, pay us a visit at 347 Page Boulevard in Springfield.
